I climbed and I climbed
with dust falling into my eyes
I climbed and I climbed
not stopping until I die
I climbed and I climbed
with rocks slipping beneath my feet
I climbed and I climbed
for I must not be beat
I climbed and I climbed
not letting my body give in
I climbed and I climbed
until I reach the very end
I climbed and I climbed
because they told me so
I climbed and I climbed
to reach the impossible
the secret box

The Straight and Narrow
The path we walk
can be certain for so long
Towards the park
On the beach
Through the trees
The night we run
can be dark for so long
in the city
driving home
going to sleep
When do we collapse
When do we crumble
Where is my path
Where is my temple
I've been told to live on the straight and narrow
but I secretly cut the corners
I just want to know where I'll be in 10 years
Give me a sign like a neon light arrow
can be certain for so long
Towards the park
On the beach
Through the trees
The night we run
can be dark for so long
in the city
driving home
going to sleep
When do we collapse
When do we crumble
Where is my path
Where is my temple
I've been told to live on the straight and narrow
but I secretly cut the corners

Falling Asleep
A girl lays on top of her bed.
Wishing for the sun to come out
She's tired of all her dreams
knowing that they're all dead
The morning never comes
so she continues to lay down
it's so quiet she can hear her heart
as steady as a bass drum
Seconds, minutes, hours on end
Position in the exact same spot
Realization draws on her
Like harsh strokes of an inked pen
After a while she rolls on her side
no longer wanting to lay on her back
Her imagination runs through her
like wind in her hair on a roller coaster ride
With her hands beneath her head
the sun light finally enters her room
but with her eyes closed she doesn't notice
for she has died laying on top of her bed.
Wishing for the sun to come out
She's tired of all her dreams
knowing that they're all dead
The morning never comes
so she continues to lay down
it's so quiet she can hear her heart
as steady as a bass drum

The Fight
My words can't describe
How I know you feel inside
The problem we face tonight
Will be gone before morning light
Trying to avoid the battle
In a war with no soldiers
You will find me shoulder to shoulder
Forward march to the steady beat of the drum
Fires spark but we will not run
Fields and plains all covered in blood
With no faces left in the mud
Victory is past the horizon
Where I'll find a lonely old man
Who says no more please
So I throw my weapon, turn around and leave

Mothers
The legs you clung to
The stomach that carriedyou
The chest you laid your head on
The shoulders you spilled your tears on
The arms that held you
The hand that fed you
The face that's half your own
would be forever know.
For her soul, body, and mind
are far more advanced beyond its time.
The stomach that carriedyou
The chest you laid your head on
The shoulders you spilled your tears on
The arms that held you
The hand that fed you
The face that's half your own
would be forever know.
For her soul, body, and mind
are far more advanced beyond its time.
What happened to our friendship?
Secrets are kept
Promises are broken
Our friendship wept
as we lost another token
Yell, break, hurt, push, cry
Where does that leave us now?
Can you tell me why?
Can you tell me how?
The world spins and time winds
and we keep completely still
no longer 2 beings with the same mind
now I've got a hole to fill
